Artturi Aalto is a Finnish cellist who is mainly recognized for his career as both a chamber musician and a soloist. Aalto has performed as asoloist with e.g. the Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and the Finnish RadioSymphony Orchestra, and has collaborated with many top conductors including Klaus Mäkelä, Sakari Oramo, Hannu Lintu and Pekka Kuusisto.

In 2013 he obtained 3rd prize in Tallinn Young Musician Competition and in 2026 he won the 1st prize in XV Cello Competition in Turku.

Aalto has performed in many festivals e.g. Korsholm Music Festival, Kuhmo Chamber Festival, Musical Chairs Festival, Turku MusicFestival, Crusell Festival, Naantali Music Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival and also abroad e.g. in Paris, Munich, Kopenhagen, Bryssel, Montreal and Warsaw. He has given chamber music concerts with e.g. Ilya Gringolts, Lena Neudauer, Gareth Lubbe, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Sergey Malov and Daniel Rowland.

Aalto received his Master’s degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he studied in the class of Torleif Thedéen, and iscurrently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München under the guidance of Julian Steckel. In 2026 Aalto was selected for the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now scholarship program.

Aalto is one of the founders and the Co-Artistic Director of RADALLA Chamber Music Festival, and is also the Co-Artistic Director ofKamarikesä Chamber Music Festival. Wegelius Foundation, MES, Pro Musica Foundation and Finnish Cultural Foundation have beengenerously supporting his career throughout the years.
